What to expect from our guided fishing trips in the Haute-Savoie Department?
Chamonix is located at the foot of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in the Alps, in the heart of the largest European mountain system.
Our 5-star lodge is in this town. Our guided fishing trips to the different rivers and streams of the Alps begin from this lodge which has a restaurant with 1 Michelin Star.
There are many mountain streams and lakes with crystal clear waters in the Haute-Savoie region containing exceptional populations of small and medium-sized wild trout. But there are other options as well. Broadly speaking, we differentiate between three types of settings:
- Alpine rivers classified as Category 1: these streams flow through the mountains. These are settings of great beauty with small trout.
- Natural mountainous lakes: these settings originated with the retreat of the glaciers. Its waters are crystal clear and have healthy populations of wild trout and brook trout. It’s necessary to walk a lot or use a helicopter to access these settings.
• Plain rivers classified as Category 2: these are more technical settings where larger brown trout can be caught.
The fishing season in the region begins on March 12th and ends on October 9th. The cost of the annual fishing license for an adult is €104. There are also tourist licenses that have a cost of €33 per week.
Who is this trip for?
There are many fishermen who travel with their partner, family or friends to Paris, the city of romanticism and decide to combine the cultural trip with a few days of fishing at the foot of the Alps.
All this in settings of enormous beauty. A perfect combination to enjoy France as a couple!
Our lodge in Chamonix:
Our lodge for fishermen is located at the foot of Mont Blanc. It’s a 5-star lodge with over a century of history that’s managed by the Carrier family.
Our lodge today, the Hameau Albert 1er, is comprised of chalets and a historic main building. These two accommodations are nestled in a rustic garden with a stream flowing between fruit trees.
Fishermen can choose different environments for their room: contemporary or alpine tradition, pure white tones or the privacy of old wood (our favorite).
RESTAURANTS
The hotel has two options to enjoy French cuisine:
1 Michelin Star restaurant:
The 5th generation of the Perrine Carrier family opened this new high-end restaurant of hospitality and gastronomy. Today a talented chef, Damien Leveau, oversees finding the perfect balance of flavors in the kitchen.
In addition, the restaurant has a cellar with over 19,000 bottles and over 1,000 references of which 640 appear on the menu. Head sommelier, Marc Henri Mialon, will be in charge of sensitively guiding you between great wines and beautiful discoveries.
Country Restaurant:
This restaurant is in a part of the hotel with an alpine environment. Its chef is oriented to popular and mountain cuisine with a dynamic menu with fresh products where you’ll discover sincere and tasty local cuisine.
